Here at HelloFresh, we’re committed to wasting less food. We’ve partnered with Social Farms & Gardens, a UK-wide charity that supplies community growing spaces for local residents, to help communities and families to learn more about living sustainably and growing their own.
By growing their own fruit, vegetables and flowers, people of all ages can come together to find out more about where food comes from, learn new gardening skills and enjoy the benefits of being in nature. This year, we’ll be shining a spotlight on families and children in particular, helping to inspire a future generation to grow their own and adopt sustainable practices. We’ve also teamed up with low-waste chef and food champion Max La Manna who will help to inspire people to adopt more sustainable habits, reduce their carbon footprint and inform a future generation of budding chefs and cooks.
Low-waste chef
We believe where ingredients come from is just as important as how they taste. Our partnership with Social Farms & Gardens will help encourage local communities and families to get involved in their local green spaces as well as the benefits of doing so, from reducing food waste to living more sustainably and seasonally. As part of our partnership with Social Farms & Gardens, we’ll be sponsoring allotments and garden spaces across London, Birmingham, Sheffield and Edinburgh.
In partnership with Social Farms & Gardens, the HelloFresh Gardens initiative is designed to support and encourage local communities to grow their own vegetables, reduce their carbon footprint and adopt more sustainable habits. This initiative will allow locals to access seasonal produce and provide vital spaces for families to educate the next generation on their farm to fork journey.
This year, we’ll also be providing additional educational resources to help future generations learn about the importance of reducing food waste. We’ve created the HelloFresh Curr-EAT-ulum Garden Syllabus, especially for parents and schools, to help inspire young minds which can be downloaded HERE.
