Chorizo Recipe FAQs
Can you eat chorizo raw?
As long as your chorizo is cured, you can eat it raw. However, uncured varieties must be cooked to ensure that they are safe to eat.
What does chorizo taste like?
There are multiple different varieties of chorizo, which all taste slightly different and add a unique flavour to the dishes you add them to. On the whole, chorizo is a spicy sausage which will add a fiery kick to your meals.
Can you freeze chorizo?
It is not recommended that you freeze chorizo. Although it can be tempting to prolong shelf-life and reduce food waste, chorizo is not suitable for freezing.
Is chorizo pork?
Chorizo comes in many different varieties, though the original and most popular variety is pork. Pork is typically combined with spices and garlic, and encased in a sausage skin, to form the chorizo we know and love today.
Do you have to cook chorizo?
Uncured chorizo must be cooked in order to be eaten safely. Cured chorizo, on the other hand, can be enjoyed straight from the packet, as it's already been air-dried and fermented, making it safe to eat.
